Concurrent Aerobic and Strength Training with Caloric Restriction Reduces Insulin Resistance in Obese Premenopausal Women: A Randomized Controlled Trial

چکیده

Background and Objectives: Obese premenopausal women are at high risk of developing insulin resistance (IR). Concurrent aerobic strength training (CAST) has been shown to provide remarkable advantages, yet its effects, along with caloric restriction in such a high-risk population, not established. This study aimed investigate the impact concurrent (CAST-CR) on IR obese women. Materials Methods: Forty-two reported IR, aged 40–50 years, were randomly allocated either intervention group, who underwent CAST restriction, or (AT-CR) control received addition restriction. Both groups completed 12 weeks controlled equivalent time. Aerobic began 60% gradually progressed achieve 75% maximum heart rate, while was executed 50% 70% one-repetition (1RM). Anthropometric measures, abdominal adiposity, metabolic parameters, homeostasis model assessment-estimated (HOMA-IR) evaluated prior following intervention. Results: experienced substantial enhancement selected parameters compared baseline (p < 0.001), higher improvement within CAST-CR group. The changes HOMA-IR −1.24 (95%CI, −1.37 −1.12) group vs. −1.07 −1.19 −0.94) AT-CR Conclusions: While improved sensitivity hyperinsulinemic, calorie more significantly, suggesting it as preferable alternative.

The effect of aspirin on preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction (FGR) in obese pregnant women : a randomized controlled clinical trial

Background: To evaluate the effect of aspirin on preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction (FGR) in obese pregnant women. Methods: A randomized clinical trial with 187 participants. Participants were allocated to either an intervention (aspirin; n=89) or control (placebo; n=98) group. In two groups, intervention was done from 13-20 until 34 weeks of pregnancy. Outcomes were preeclampsia and FG...

Effect of Eight Weeks of Aerobic Aquatic and Land Exercise Training on Leptin, Resistin, and Insulin Resistance in Obese Women

Background: Regular exercise has been shown to improve diabetes-related biological markers. However, for some groups, exercises that require weight bearing are difficult. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to compare the effect of eight weeks of aerobic aquatic and land exercise training on leptin, resistin, and insulin resistance in obese women. Materials and Methods: In the p...

Endocrinology and Adolescence: aerobic exercise reduces insulin resistance markers in obese youth: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this meta-analysis was to examine the evidence for the effectiveness of aerobic exercise interventions on reducing insulin resistance markers in obese children and/or adolescents. A secondary outcome was change in percentage of body fat. METHODS A computerized search was made from seven databases: CINAHL, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EMBASE, ERIC, M...

Strength vs aerobic training in children with cystic fibrosis: a randomized controlled trial.

STUDY OBJECTIVE Exercise has the potential to improve the ability of a patient with cystic fibrosis (CF) to cope with the physical demands of everyday life, and may improve prognosis. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of a home-based, semi-supervised, upper-body strength-training regimen with a similarly structured aerobic training regimen. DESIGN Data were collected during...

Caloric restriction reverses hepatic insulin resistance and steatosis in rats with low aerobic capacity.

Rats selectively bred for low aerobic running capacity exhibit the metabolic syndrome, including hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, visceral obesity, and dyslipidemia. They also exhibit features of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, including chicken-wire fibrosis, inflammation, and oxidative stress. Hyperinsulinemia in these rats is associated with impaired hepatic insulin clearance. The current...
